Custom Feature Pattern / Mark bolts to place bolts, fastners etc.

Hi!

Im a keen user of feature patterns to make placement of bolts, fastners etc. much easier.

But sometimes in complex models feature pattern are not always possible to use.

Example:

You have many holes in a part, all from different sketches and with different placement.

All holes shall have same bolt, nuts etc.

There should be a feature so you can mark the all holes and make them a feature pattern.

So basicly define a feature pattern from features like hole, extrude, cut thats not included in a circular or rectangular pattern.

Another idea is to first Select Components, then click in wich hole you want to place it in.

Have you tried the Sketch Driven Pattern?  It sounds like it would pretty much do what you are asking for, unless I misunderstand your intentions.

@jtylerbc  Hi!

Yes I have tried Sketch Driven Pattern and that would be a solution in most cases!

In this case (picture 1) every flange differs in angle, length, torsion so its impossible to create a workplane to sketch in, without using Unfold-Refold wich i really dont like.

Another example:

This has an oval shape wich is not a patterns best friend.. ive used Rectangular Patten with Orientation and Direction options. So the slotted holes are somewhat aligned.

But when i try Sketch Driven the slotted holes dont align.

Basicly in this case i find it hard to use pattern, so therefore it would be nice to be able to define a pattern after holes/cuts are made manually.

Another example where this could be used.

In this case, I overtook a model from someone else. It should be possible to define this slot-pattern as a feature pattern at assembly level. Now i have to manually place 40 bolts.
