Cross-Platform Support

Cross-Platform Support

Hello, I am a high school student who is currently pursuing my passion in engineering and have used Autodesk Inventor in the past and loved it. It is a very popular program but was disappointed that Inventor could not be used on Macs or Linux without a virtualization or a dual boot. With how popular the program is I would have thought that by now it would have been cross-platform. It would be amazing and open your product to several new customers if Autodesk would be made for not just Windows. Thank you so much.

This topic has been brought up many times in the past and the consensus is it is very unlikely this will happen. There is not a large enough market to invest in potentially redoing the software from scratch to work on other operating systems.

There also is another idea posted about linux support here.

There are also quite a few threads in the main Inventor forum on this if you are interested.
