Users want a way to use blocks within the machining of welded assemblies. According to our current state of knowledge, blocks are only possible in a sketch of the component, not in the welded assembly
I gave up on post weld machining on welded assemblies years ago. My process is to make a derived part of the welded assembly after doing the weld prep and welding, and then perform any machining on derived part instead. That way I have access to all of the modelling functions. It's the derived part which is then used in any further assemblies. The .iam ends up being pretty much dormant. Maybe a convoluted workflow, but it's work well for me.
But, yeah having the options of blocks in the welded assembly is still something to keep pushing for. I'll vote for it.
might even suggest going a step further and allow the use of blocks in ANY enviroment that has the Sketch ability (so also normal assembly's and drawings)
