Create inspection table

Create inspection table

A welcome new feature would be to extend the current inspection dimension.

In the current dimension window you can only change the shape of the balloon, add a label and an inspection rate.

The disadvantage of this  is that it is rather far away, and not quickly editable. And that geometrical dimensions for example are not included.

Besides of that the colleaguees from the incoming goods inspection, don't have inventor. They have MS Excel thought. So it would be great if this feature was taken to the next level. With a quick acces option to simply add the inspection information to a dimension.

After clicking on the icon the user can select they way of numbering (Alpha/Numberic) and a default inspection rate. Then he can or select all the dimenions and add these properties to it, or he can select the dimensions one by one, asked to fill out the inspection rate.

There should also be an option to renumber the inspection dimensions. Start by #1 and every click on a following dimension increases the #. (Like AMD ballooning; maybe a idea for reballooning in Inventor also).

Finally a table can be created with an overview of all the inspection dimensions, with the tolerances intergrated and inspection rates included. This table should be exportable to MS Excel, maybe even with a conditional formatting when the later measured dimension is added, the cell will color red/green.

Something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCgW4Xn-ym4 , only better..

All the data/variables are already present inside the idw, why nog use them to the maximum?

Thank you for your reply,

I tried this app, working good, but It's a third-party app, need to pay every year.

Why not this app inside Inventor?

Please look at Solidworks, copy the behaviour of the add-in and implement to Inventor.

This feature would be awesome to implement. Bump

So many years already asked for this option, but still not implemented. Are the Autodesk developers really connected with the real world?

There is a lot of automation potential with this feature.  Right now I'm working on an iLogic script to perform this task and cut out a lot of manual work when performing first article inspections.  More focus on the quality engineering aspect of the product lifecycle is needed from Autodesk for Inventor.

Can you Possible share the iLogic rule?

It's still in development and has a long way to go to get it functioning across all of our use cases, there are some forum posts in the iLogic & VBA section that got me going looking at their iLogic codes.

Getting all inspection characteristics marked and the data exported is really a big challenge.

Our solution Reitec.Testplan for Inventor has over 40.000 lines of code !!

So, probably its easier and cheaper to buy a solution then do it on your own.
