Looking for the ability to add a search textbox within the Inventor ribbon rather that a button with a dialog box to decrease user button clicks and improve efficiency.
This is probably something that would need to be done by the PLM/ERP software developer. The tool you are wanting to change is probably not developed or managed by Autodesk.
If you feel comfortable writing VB.net or C# code, you could ask the software developer if they have an API. The Inventor "My First Plugin" tutorial can help you get started with making your own plugin. There are also some great examples that come bundled with the Inventor SDK.
@el_jefe_de_steak, my request is for the ability to add a text box to the ribbon panel, which Autodesk doesn't support within Inventor. We're very knowledgeable in C# and CAD add-ins. We just need the text box control to be available. We'll do the rest.
