Simply said: make the custom length input field of the Content Center accept alpha numeric characters. (See attached image.)This way it should be possible to make it read custom parameters attached to said file.
This should atleast apply to parts saved as custom. This way it will be possible to change the size of, for example this tube to a smaller or larger version while not having to redo all lenght related parameters.
Not sure if it would be necessary to verify the parameter (wether it does exist or not) or just simply accept any text which will translate to the parameter defining the extrusion length (or sweep/offset) in the part if available. If the parameter is incorrect it would throw an error at you anyway cause it cant extrude right?
Could be a setting in the CC settings to make the field accept alpha numeric, so it is a choice and not forced.
