Component Replace with Options

Component Replace with Options

In Assemblies you can Place components with the Options button that allows you to determine the Model State, Design View, and Associative.

This Options button should be available for the Replace command.

Of course add the API ability for this as well for the programmers out there.

Greetings.

Currently you can "Replace All" only that occurrences, who have the same "Positional Representation". If they have different "Positional Representations", they will not be replaced, eventhough we used "Replace All" function.

To add to the current functionality, please make "Replace All" Enhancement that has an option to ignore the "Positional Representation" and literally "Replace All" occurrences.

Best regards,

What about model states? If occurences of the same component have multiple and different model states, should they also be selected and replaced? Optional would be nice. And if positional representations are replaced and the replacement has a positional representation with the same name, should the positional representation be preserved? I'm sure we can think of other options to consider.

@Udo_Huebner

We just started working with model states, so we do not have a lot of experiences or testing with it.

And I agree with you that also those options should be considered.

Either dialog with multiple selections is implemented or to preserve the current functionality, just implement the "full Replace All", which means it just look at the file, if it is the same, replace it with selected.

Currently we use "select all occurrences" and "replace (all)".

When using the replace component command I just want the ability to select which model state is being used on the new part.  We can specify a model state when opening a file so why not when replacing a component?  The options button is already there in the open dialog it is just greyed out for replace.
