command to create Sheet Metal Stiffener / Guesset

Hi,

Can we have a direct command to create stiffner in sheet metatal design?

Solid Edge does this quite easily. Wish Inventor would catch up on sheet metal.

So I did some digging on the Inventor forum, and since 2006 your customers have been asking for this software functionality: Sheet Metal Gusset iFeatures. Well, here's another one wanting the same thing so I can stop hacking my files to display what I want.

Solidworks has had this since 2014 apparently, and the feature is not a hack like every forum link that I will provide for y'all explains. Every method(s) that people use to add the gusset into the Inventor files are just hacks, they won't work in a flat pattern?!........

I mean hell, if it CAN'T work at all, at least make a proper hack. For example, display the gusset as a point on the flat pattern. Then in that point, allow all the punch data to be extracted for a drawing file (especially .dxf files), using the same sort of special annotation feature button such as "Chamfer" or "Hole & Thread Feature" does.

These are common features for strengthening sheet metal design. Is there a good reason why the company is behind on supporting this? That's over 10 years that you've left people incapable of doing their jobs efficiently, on very, very pricey software....

Thanks for consolidating the listings, wouldn't it have been better to use the one that's spelled correctly? That's why I couldn't find it when I searched I think.

It would be nice if you could maybe through an unfolded sheet metal part and have it make a gusset with a few drop downs like: gusset height and angle...

Yes there are several other software platforms that have the simple command to make a stiffening gusset in sheet metal.

Having this feature would help immensely on basically any structural sheet metal part.
