Colour identity in the Model Browser

Whilst delivering a training course this week, a trainee made an interesting suggestion for better/clear identification of features in the Model Browser using colour. At the moment the Model Browser looks like this:

But whether there is a way of having different colours to identify feature types, i.e. Blue for Extrudes, Green for Revolves etc.

Anyway, I just thought I would log it here, to see if others think this is a worthy suggestion.

Hi @MTimmis_ADSK. Interesting idea. There are many, many feature types, I think it would be difficult to have a unique and distinguishable color for every one. Even supposing we could, how is that more advantageous than the icons we already have?

Having used Inventor for some time, I am more than happy with identifying what features I have in the feature list. However, this idea came from a new Inventor user I was training, so perhaps for people who are new to the package, they feel the icons are not obvious enough, or they want more clearer definition in the browser. When they mentioned colour, I think it would be a line of colour behind the icon and the text of the feature, so you end up with a list of coloured rows in the model browser.

Perhaps this could be an option that people have the ability to turn on/off? For new starters and experienced users.

I would simply like the ability to format the text for items in the browser just like any word processing app (bold, italics, color, typeface, etc.)    Just having this control for key features in the model tree would help me navigate it more easily, especially for complex multi-body part files.  How the text is formatted should be up to the user.
