Clean laser cutting svg export

Clean laser cutting svg export

For laser cutting there currently is no option for any type of 2d file export. While there is a pdf, it is just a screen shot and all the texture in the background makes it impossible to clean up. This is an option the export as a 3D file then open in another software such as Tinkercad.(part of Autodesk) then it can be directly exported and cut.

Or you can make a drawing with Flat Pattern and export that on many formats like DWG or DXF.

You can remove all other objects (Title Block and Borders) from drawing sheet so I think it's clean too.

Yes there is ways to create the svgs. I was hoping that Autodesk would add
a more simple way to export them so I could take them directly to the laser
software.

There are multiple options for doing this.

  • You can right-click on a flat face and click "Export Face As..." and export to DXF or DWG.
  • If it's a sheet metal part, you can right-click on the Flat Pattern node and click "Save Copy As...", and export to SAT, DWG, or DXF.
  • You can place a view of your part in a Drawing and export that drawing as an AutoCAD DWG, with only the model geometry included at 1:1 scale.

I understand you want to export to SVG specifically, but please do research before posting ideas to avoid putting false information in your post.

Also, please do a search before posting ideas to make sure your idea hasn't already been suggested. This one has and currently has a decent number of votes: SaveAs/Export to SVG format.
