Center Mark for slots in drawings

It's common to dimension to the center point of a slot rather than the center points of its end arcs. It would be nice to be able to do this with a single click.

This currently works for round holes:

And it works for the the center points of the slot's end arcs:

But it doesn't work for the slot as a whole. I propose that when we hover over the straight lines of the slot, we should be able to add a center mark for the entire slot with a single click:

There are workarounds for this, but they take much more time and effort, and/or don't look as nice.

That would be usefull! For now, maybe you can use slot punch tool? Then you add a single center mark in the middle by clicking once only.

In our company we solved this problem by using the metal punch tool to create the slot. Afterwards it is possible in the drawing to use the command automated centerlines. Activate the features for the command and it should produce the intended result.

You can't actively select the slot and when the slot is tilted it doesn't work, but maybe that fits your requirements.
