bring back the auto explode in ipn

bring back the auto explode in ipn

i am missing an essential function the ipn of 2017 , the auto explode to create quick exploded views for drawing views.
i do not understand why this was removed.

use auto explode, edit some tweaks and the assembly is ready for an isometric explode view in the drawing. was the most used function of the ipn .

In the online help it is still mentioned:

http://help.autodesk.com/view/INVNTOR/2017/ENU/?guid=GUID-95946F83-2758-45EC-A41C-93DE04D712BB

so bring back the most needed and used feature in the ipn!

Amen!!!!

Granted the newer version is more robust, but how many really use it for more than what you mentioned?

I think I can count all the actual deep involved animations I've ever made in Inventor since release 3 on one hand.

What you mention is 99% of what I (we) use it for.

Autodesk have a software can auto explode an assembly, ít is Autodesk Inventor Publisher. But in that software I cant export to drawing the Explode view. So why dont Autodesk do that in Inventor ?? In Inventor we just do explode one by one, but we need something fast like Inventor Publisher. It's great when you deal with exploding a large assembly. I think that Autodesk should combine that two software. I hope that one day in the future, I can use Inventor and just with one click, i can explode any assembly automaticly.

Hey

Dont know about anyone else but we find with large assembies, the exploded views take ages. SW has a good circular / radial method that you can sort of auto exploded but by dragging your mouse. The Inventor Shared Views tool also has a good easy explode tool simply by dragging a track bar.

Can we get this in the presentation tool? it would be great to explode all parts from a center equally

Hear hear!

I've almost only ever used exploding for illustrative purposes in drawings, particularly ballooning. Doing it bit by bit sounds laughably inefficient...

Like the features in shared views, please add a autimaaut exploded  view maker for drawings and presentation.

Please allow to isolate few parts to see assembly of specific parts only.

Also as exploded view is generated please make trails and also a list of parts aitautomatica

Our organisation still needs this function.

Dear Autodesk, can you bring it back?

Thnx

Hi,

I made this video and Auto Explode in Fusion 360, but my First program is Inventor.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgDwTQMRjOI&feature=youtu.be
I have the same opinion. I do not understand why the functionality was removed. I also don't understand why forceeffect was removed. Sometimes I don't know what to think about mirroring or the field. I think programmers should try to make a few drawings and then understand everything.

Forceeffect Canceled, Auto Explode in Inventor Canceled, and much else Canceled. I expected that this functionality will be integrated into Inventor and developed and nothing.

This world understand.

Context Idea
New enhancement for Auto Explode functionality.
All parts and assemblies will be enabled (Auto Explode by default), change will be possible in document settings and bulk change in Bill of materials.
Sometimes we have bearings or other parts and we don't want Automatic Explode on these assemblies.

Hi all,

My two cents:

In agreement with TheAngryElf and ema4FDAH's posts, I also have never really used (couple of times in years) the Auto-Explode feature to make videos. I used it to make quick, easy exploded views for drawings.

Today I have a simple assembly with only about 20 parts that I'd like to explode (thus my Google search for 'Inventor 2020 Auto-Explode' and how I ended up here) and need to place that view into a PDF and a drawing. I'm pulling the parts apart one by one ("Tweaking") which must cause designers and engineers the world over a great deal of angst who have larger assemblies.

The odd thing is, as someone mentioned above, Auto-Explode IS mentioned in the Inventor 2020 Help file. I just found out the icons it described for the command were not present on my toolbar and I set out to find out why. At first, it seemed like simple mistakes like having to select the whole assembly or else the icon wasn't present, then it was only present when you first associated an assembly file with a Presentation file, etc.

Sadly, I found out the feature was removed. Autodesk, please return the feature or maybe even an improved version of it and the people who don't like it (and I ran across a few posts saying so, as it didn't suit their purpose) are under no obligation to use it. And I certainly don't mean that in an insulting way.

This is very disappointing.  This is one of the features that sold me on this product many years ago.  I guess when im reviewing between re-sub with Autodesk or start looking at Solidworks products later this year, ill have to reconsider my choice with Autodesk.

I agree with the comment from Dusan Naus. I hope, you will put these ideas to Inventor. In next version....?

Inventor can't do Render well, then it's bad. My comment with an attachment in the link.

An interesting example from the competition.

There are many functions of Inventor that not everyone uses. However, I would hazard a guess that most users create exploded presentation views of their assemblies, as part of a basic documentation package.

Although Publisher & Showcase had their failings, they addressed the needs of many users, who are now forced to use lesser tools, and more complex workflows, and their associated costs.

At the very least, the return of the auto-explode function would save users (& companies) much time/cost on the documentation end.

Yes, exactly my point. As I mentioned, pulling the parts apart one by one is extremely tedious to say the least. And the most aggravating part? It used to be so easy. A feature that was there and now gone. I get surveys often from Autodesk asking about feature changes but surely they’ve seen this thread, which is getting quite old now, and no sign at all about returning the feature. It would be nice if a rep posted here and said “We’ll never add that feature back and here’s why...” or better yet “The feature is added back and will return next update.”

The reality of life. What is the difference between a designer, a teacher and a businessman, a programmer? The businessman and programmer may not care because they don't work in that program.

Also asking for auto explode to come back.
