BOM editor - enable copying of only values from expression driven fields

BOM editor - enable copying of only values from expression driven fields

Description:

If a value in BOM field is driven via expression there is currently no direct way to copy that value to clipboard. The driving expression is copied by default. That's fine if someone wants to copy the expression to another field in BOM but useless if you want to copy specific value to Word, Excel or similar:

BOM-copy_value 0.pngBOM-copy_value 0.png

Suggested solution:

Add a new command to BOM right click menu that would make it possible to copy the value and not expression:

BOM-copy_value.pngBOM-copy_value.png

Some users need this because they copy certain values from BOM to Word in part of their workflow. Now they have to export entire BOM table to text file and then copy some of those values from txt to Word. But copying directly from BOM would be much easier because you can graphically identify specific components of which descriptions you need in Word document.

Discovered this issue today, very frustrating! And the solution would be simple. Please implement.

My only suggestion is that the default "Copy" should copy the values, since users will likely expect what they see in the box to actually be what is copied to clipboard. The additional feature then would be a button to "Copy Expression". If the default behavior is changed, once a text box is selected, the expression could be copied manually from the "expression" text box at the top, but another button in the right-click menu would be convenient as well.
