Everything you with Inventor is visual. Adding leaders gives you a nice visual element to show you where your leader will be. adding parts to assemblies give you the part / assembly attached to your mouse pointer. Basically, every function has some sort of visual assistance.
Move that to the programming side, you get NOTHING. Add a leader?, you have to predefine points. Add a part, you need to place at zero then reselect it. Its clumsy.
I suggest that you provide better insert options to allow programming development to behave more like the Native Inventor functions. Give us some visual elements so that we don't have to keep fudging the coding which makes the user experience less appealing.
