Be able to fold sheet metal with pockets
I'd like to see the ability to use the Fold feature on a sheet metal part where there are multiple thicknesses resulting from a milling or forming process prior to the fold operation.
Well, that was unexpected. Inventor's sheet metal modeling capabilities have improved over the last four years I have worked with it, just not as fast as I would have liked. When pushed to the limits like this, you see some weird stuff. I can see where quantifying this type of geometry would be difficult, but that's the software developer's job. Inventor, if you want to impress me, develop your sheet metal. We are paying for it, you know.
Thanks, Maciej_Mroczek. That is a good solution for many cases and I have used it before. I'm hoping for a more eloquent solution that will work in more involved situations.
