Auto Create Flat Patterns

I looked and looked and couldn't find this. Is there a reason i have to manually click create flat pattern? Why as soon as i make it a sheet metal part does it not start making the flat pattern. It would automatically let you know if its not able to be formed before you continue making the part and you wouldn't have to take the time of going into every sheet metal part and create the flat patterns.

This has to do with a performance issue for inventor.

But in general a good idea.

But put it as on option in the Application Options!

Well coming from a SolidWorks background it starts to get irritating because you never have to do that for sheet metal parts.

is it just a rule? or is it an actual add in? if its a rule sure if not my company probably would have to look into it way before i could try using it. 😕

Add in.
But you can look into it with vb.net.
It's not to complicated.

I logic is also possible. But has disadvantages.

Yup, definitely require this... it is a shame there is soo much functionality missing in Inventor... It is the little things that help people appreciate the product more...or not... STOP WASTING MY TIME INVENTOR.
