assembly appearance

assembly appearance

When I create a part, it's in raw steel. I place it in an assembly of several raw steel parts and I want to paint the assembly. I have to select the parts in the assembly to assign a colour. Now I add a new part (in unfinished steel) to the same assembly, the part is still in steel and I have to re-select it to assign it the same colour as the others.
It would be useful to associate an appearance with an assembly so that whatever part is imported, it is automatically given the same appearance as the assembly (if an appearance is selected).

You can change the selection filter to "all instances" and thus color all identical components in the assembly.

Yes but if later in my project, i add a part in the assembly, it's not take the color by defaut. Or another idea will be to add a finish feature but with part and assembly selection. If i send an assembly for galvanisation, the entire assembly will be affect by this, and not just one face or solid. What i would like is to have an appearance linked to assembly, whatever the parts inside.
