Area Measurement

As it stands, Inventor requires the user to "Add to Accumulate" the areas of individually-selected surfaces, one surface at a time. This can be very time consuming on a complex part AND... Inventor does not display which surfaces have been selected for accumulation, so the possibility of double selecting a surface is very real.

It would be nice if Inventor allowed for multiple surfaces to be selected (changing color to show which ones have been selected) before clicking the "Add to Accumulate" function.

I agree this would be useful, vote given. In the meantime, did you know that Inventor calculates the area of all surfaces on your solid body (or bodies)? You can see this value under iProperties --> Physical. You might have already known that, just thought I'd point it out in case it's helpful.

Yes - Understood that the iProperties command responds with total surface area.

What I'm suggesting is an easier way for Inventor to allow a user to calculate a partial surface area.

I've run into this with linework as well.  It would be fantastic to CTRL-click or some other way to multi-select the geometry and get the resulting measurement.  I've developed workarounds for the linework, using 3D sketches and iLogic, but it would be nice to multi-select in the Measure command itself.
