Holographic Design in Augmented / Mixed Reality (see through display)
Run inventor on a workstation / laptop using a tethered headset (e.g. Meta 2) as the display.
- The 3D graphics window displays 3D information as a hologram.
- Model stays fixed in real 3D space and view moves with head position
- The 2D interface faces the user and moves with the users head around the middle of the CAD model
- The 2D interface is scalable for ease of use
The reason for a tethered headset is the ability to run inventor on a fully powered machine (CPU / GPU/ RAM)
IMO Untethered devices (Hololens, Magic Leap, Daqri etc) are not yet ready for Native 3D CAD and are using game engines such as Unity for rendering.
