Any patterns created while making an assembly can only be adjusted as a group while making it. You lose this function outside the realm of the model creation. When setting up a drawing view, you can no longer adjust the visibility of an entire Component Pattern. One is forced to drill down within each element of the pattern into the separate parts to adjust visibility of each individual part. If your pattern has 8 elements with 3 parts in each, (say a bolt washer and nut) that becomes a repeated process that seams unnecessary.
