AI-Powered 3D Model and Drawing Generation in Inventor

AI-Powered 3D Model and Drawing Generation in Inventor

With the rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence, integrating AI-powered tools into Autodesk Inventor could significantly enhance productivity and innovation in the design process. I propose a feature that leverages AI to assist in the creation of 3D models and 2D drawings based on user inputs, sketches, or even textual descriptions.

AI ... Why Fusion and not Inventor too? Just another example of Fusion priority and Inventor moving out the door perhaps?

If AI was to somehow get integrated into Inventor, I would definitely want it to be turned off by default when installations &/or updates happen, and have a very clear and obvious way to turn it on/off.  AI can be extremely intrusive in multiple ways, and some designs must be kept as private as possible.  No matter what kind of 'privacy policies' may be referred to (which rarely get 100% read carefully before agreed to, and often need a professional law expert to understand), the trust is simply not there yet.  There is already enough background snooping (data collecting) going on, some that we can not turn off, and others that we 'apparently' can turn off.  This may not be a concern for everyone, but it certainly concerns some very much.

I do agree that it would be nice to have something like a 'design actions recorder', or 'macro/logic recorder' that could be used for recording a series of actions that can then easily be reproduced with a click on a button.  I have already been involved with design automation through Inventor for several years now, and recognize that benefit.  But I don't necessarily like the idea of a third party entity being constantly active in the background 100% of the time, recording everything I do, and every file I open or create, and reporting all types of data which that third party may be interested in back to their data center whenever they want.

WCrihfield ... totally agree. I hadn't thought that thru realizing that Fusion is 'CLOUD' based. I am as anti-cloud as you can get and if it couldn't be an automated process that was managed locally for intellectual property security reasons, I am not sure I would want it either. The idea of On/Off is intriguing though as it allows you to pick and choose as you like or as needed. On the flip side, if you are using good modeling techniques, AI is not needed. Also, the use of Sketch Doctor is there to help ... albeit could get better at highlighting issue better for resolving.

Love the idea of the 'Recorder' as described and I am with you on the 3rd party concerns. An On/Off for that would be nice too for those times when you are in DOE mode v. known design paths. That way you have resource control.

我觉得AI在inventor中 更像是一个助手,全面接管目前是不可能的
