One of the most puzzling things to me with this software after roughly 10 years of use it's its overall lack of drawing improvements that have been made - which is essentially none. One of my biggest annoyances so far is the inability to control layer draw/render order on a Sheet Drawing. We deal with drawings showing flexible components in multiple positions a lot, and therefor show a a view overlay of alternate positions on top of the main view. In order to maintain clarity, we lighten the alternate view with a dashed line. For whatever reason, Inventor decides that this light gray overlay should be on top of the primary view, which honestly makes things look like garbage. Also, there is no way to add transparency of any kind to lines, hatches, or to anything for that matter. This is incredibly frustrating, as we use a ton of transparency with AutoCAD which allows us to make some really good looking, high quality drawings. When trying to re-create any of this in Inventor, it just looks terrible. Please allow for drawing control within Inventor and honestly Revit as well, since it also has the same exact issues that Inventor does.
