The Hole command has the option of creating iMates at the same time the hole(s) are created. This is great but it needs a bit more control. Currently, if creates an Insert iMate on both edges of the hole, one on the side where the hole was placed and one on the side where the hole exits the part.
This can become a problem if you are going to try and automatically place another part, into an assembly, using the feature "Place at all matching iMates". This will place the part, using all iMates, on both side of the part containing the iMates. This is not always desirable.
My idea is to add a switch to the Hole command palette, that will allow for three conditions:
- Same side as hole placement
- Opposite side of hole placement
- Both sides of hole placement
The exact wording can be refined but I hope you get the general idea.
Thank You.
