I would like Inventor Read-Only mode to allow the use of iLogic forms to make changes that the application already allows.
Right now in Inventor Read-Only 2020, someone can open a drawing and change iProperties (to change fields in the titleblock). However, for someone that doesn't interact with these drawings on a daily basis, remembering which tab different fields are on or even knowing how to get into changing these items could be difficult or something that requires constant training/reminders. Even for our engineers that understand the program and the way everything is set up, we have a form so that we don't have to filter through all the iProperties that we don't use in our titleblock.
Having the form functionality would be very helpful, especially for our customer service division. Every drawing that is released has a job number attached to it. To explain, before Read-Only mode, when our customer service division needed to release an item for spare parts, they either had to:
- ask an engineer to update the field(s)
- OR print the drawing and hand-write on it, even sometimes then scanning it back in to send it to a vendor!
With the read-only program, now they can do this workflow themselves, but it's still not very easy.
