From all my years using Inventor, the hole wizard is completely lacking the ability to define complex holes.
My eyes were only recently opened to this from having to use Solidworks for a now previous employer.
When you place a hole in Solidworks, you will see the consumed 2D sketch of the hole profile you've specified.
I wish Inventor had the ability to let its users specify a holes' profile, based on a revolved sketch (possibly with excel spreadsheet driven dimension for hole families), then save it as a "standard" via Design Data folder, that the hole wizard could then select via drop down.
What brought this up is I'm wishing that I could set up a standard definition for SAE Straight Thread Ports, and there is no way that I currently see, to set up this hole with this complex profile, and save it as a standard that hole wizard can use. Meaning: every time I need one of these holes, I have to sketch the profile and revolve cut it out.
If this can already be done in Inventor 2018 or older, please educate me how to make this a standard hole.
There has to be a better way to make complex hole profiles in Inventor...
Please see attached PDF for hole profile I'm referring to above.
