Ability to create subcategory in the Material Browser
Inventor 2014 allows the creation of a new category in the Material Library, unfortunately a sub-category cannot be created. That functionality would help organize custom materials.
Still the same in 2018. The Autodesk Material Library has a sub category under the metal category as standard, so why can't the users create their own?
We largely only work with steel, so our metal library is used most commonly. We name our materials typically by the grade (e.g. S275) and the British or European standard that defines the product, such as BS EN 10025. However, due to the large range of products and standards, we often find it difficult to locate exactly what we want. Also, usually we use terms such as box section, or flat, round, square, etc when discussing materials, so we need an efficient system that can combine all this. I believe sub-categories would allow us to do this.
