A simpler Autodesk layout with more space

My suggestion: Group your tools and browsers for an intuitive design workflow with more space

Autodesk software is amazing and there's so much you can do with it but its organisation and groupings are repeated and spread out; they aren't intuitive. So an idea might be to utilise Adobe's workspace organisation. The first picture below explains how Adobe Illustrator's tools and panels work.

The second picture explains how you could possibly apply Adobe's tools and panels to Autodesk's tools and browsers. For tools, instead of having "Extrude" all over the place you could just have it in a tools toolbar, docked on the side, and a keyboard shortcut; making it easy to reach and consistently placed. For browswers, you could use browsers you already have and apply them to the layout (like the model browser) or if a tool like text needs refining you could create a browser instead of using the ribbon. The ribbon can then respond to the tool and not the workspace for a simpler responsive design. Adobe's main menu and customisable workspace options, with default or saved layouts could also make choosing what you need quicker than having everything out all the time.

Microsoft ribbon can work but it's designed for a text-based workflow. Adobe is designed for a design workflow. Perhaps using Adobe as inspiration might serve Autodesk better.
