Zoom Behaviour - Reverse Direction

Hi,

I like to change my settings so that the zoom behaviour is in reverse direction. I know how to change this, however, every time I shut down inventor and re-open Inventor the zoom behaviour goes back to the default settings.

I have tried just applying the reverse direction and also changing the 'appearance' to 'use application settings'. Neither of these have worked and the zoom behaviour continues to revert back to default setting.

Any help on this please?

Hello.  What version of Inventor is this, and what type of mouse are you using?  Are all drivers up to date?

It's 2023 and the mouse is a logitech (wireless). Yes, all drivers are up to date. Thanks

Hi! This could be related to your Windows user profile setting. Somehow a system process reverting the change made to UserApplicationOptions.xml.

Try a test to prove this theory. Before starting up Inventor, go to File Explorer -> %AppData% -> Autodesk -> Inventor 202x -> UserApplicationOptions.xml. Look at the date and time of this file.

Start up Inventor and make change to the Zoom in/out direction. Close Inventor and check the same .xml file. Has it been saved to a later time?

Hello, thank you for your help, just tried that. The date saved does change but then when I reload Inventor - unfortunately it's still reverting back to the default zoom settings. Thanks

Hi! I cannot reproduce the behavior. Go to %AppData% and find UserApplicationOptions.xml. Edit it in Notepad or any text editor. Look for "ReverseZoomDirection" and the value should be 1. If it is not there or the value is zero, something is wrong. Somehow the option change was not taken properly.
Please right-click on Inventor icon on desktop -> Properties -> Compatibility -> check "Run as Admin."

I have since spoken to someone at autodesk.

The solution was to use Inventor Reset Utility and similar to your solution, deleted all temporary files. Thank you for your help.
