Wrong Depiction of Seamless Pattern (jpg) as Appearance

Hi everyone,

 

in the Inventor file attached I've created an appearance with a (from Photoshop exported) 594x594mm seamless pattern picture (jpg), which has almost the same size as the overall measuremnts of the part.

For some reason however, with the Visual Style "Shaded" it seems like the jpg is somehow displaced and I can see "like a cross" in the middle.

With the Visual Style "Realistic", though, it looks right.

How can this huge optical difference be explained?

Any solution to fix that, since it does not work with the Offset function either?

unfortunately, Inventor is neither a graphics program or a render application.

Your best bet is to try and find a better "seamless" image map, I use Poliigon

 

There's not much for controlling images, and blending edges, there is no option for Triplaner mapping. As Inventor doesn't have "UV's", there is not really a way to scale images across the entire part/surface.

 

I consider any appearance texture as generic images that will repeat over and over with no way to control the edge blending.

 

Inventors' "realistic" visual style, is a bit of false advertising...

I highly recommend rendering final images outside of Inventor: (3D Max, MODO, Cinema 4D, Blender)

You would need to create your own texture based on that one that works. As said, Inventor is not the best at texture mapping.

@Traxtormer For Inventor you should only need the (color/Diffuse maps), and maybe the (bump maps)
