Workspace sync deleted files

I'm using Inventor & Vault 2016. A senior engineer insisted that I use workspace sync as I started on their project which was a hot topic. I stopped the design I was working on for another engineer and it seems, that those 3 weeks of work (that I was told not to load into the vault just yet) was completely blown away. I've a system restore and that only works on system registry content. I tried restoring all the files in my desk top recycle bin and none of the files were there either. Is there another way/ location to retrieve those files that were removed from my C:/vault folder?

If the files were not checked into Vault, then your only backup is the oldversion folder that Inventor maintains.  But that means you have to manually do this since this folder is created where ever the files are kept.   In the future I would recommend that you understand Vault Workplace Sync before you run it.  Its a powerful tool but as you found out, well you deleted files that were not part of the Vault.  I will wish you good luck and hopefully you can get your model back into the latest status.
