Work point intersecting a plane and line

When trying to create a work point where a 3D line and work plane intersects, the work point is placed close, but not actually on the line. Upon close inspection, you can see the point being placed in the middle of nowhere, see attached files.

The purpose of the work point is to be able to constrain a sketch on the work plane to the 3D line. Perhaps there's another way to accomplish that as well?

I do not see any Inventor files (*.ipt) attached here.

I do see "pretty" pictures that indicate a bunch of errors all the way up the browser.

If you attach the *.ipt file here, then someone can demonstrate how to create a workpoint in specified intersection.

Sure thing!

Work plane 5 and the visible 3D sketch is where I'm trying to place the work point.

I get the same exact result in r2017 only when zoomed all the way in.  However, when I measured the distance from the point to the 3D line, the result came back as 0.  I upped the precision and got a result of 0.00000000.

I believe being zoomed in all the way reveals the disparity.  Most likely a graphics display limitation when zoomed in so far.  There is no visual indication of how close you are zoomed in, so the distance across your monitor might be microns when zoomed in that close and not very useful anyway.
