Work planes ain't appearing

Hello, i am having some troubles after updating to Inventor 2018. 

When i open any part in an assembly(Expand), while constraining, and go to the planes of the part

i can move my cursor over the planes and it won't show me what plane it is.

To fix this i need to move my cursor to the screen and then return to the plane and it will appear,

after this the problem stops, if i collapse the part and then expand again sometime to constrain the plane

it will happen again, BUT if i leave the part expanded the problem disappears.

This really annoys me in large assemblys.

Is there a solution? It seems like a loading and unloading of resources.

A static image really doesn't show the true problem.     Perhaps you want to create an Autodesk Sceencast and walk us through the workflow.

Have you applied all the latest Inventor 2018 updates that you are entitled to?

Have you upgraded your graphics card?  Don't rely on Windows telling you its up to date.  Go to Windows Device manager, expand display adapter, right mouse click on your card and select properties.  Go to the driver tab and see what the date of your graphics card driver is.  It is not at least a 2017 driver date it may be time for a driver update.  Also while in Inventor (while a file is open), go to Tools/Application Options/Hardware tab and select the diagnostic button.  Is Inventor 2018 using the correct video card?  Also on that tab, what is your settings?

You are at Build 112 which is the original release of Inventor 2018..  Inventor 2018.1 is out and there's a update to that as well.  Your graphics driver looks ok..  Not sure if you are on a active maintenance plan or subscription but if you are, you can install Inventor 2018.1 and get new features (and it may fix graphically issues you may be experiencing).

Hi! I think you are talking about Pre-Highlighting. I don't recall the default setting now. Your settings might be off. Please go to Tools -> Colors -> check "Enable Pre-Highlighting" and "Enable Enhanced Pre-Highlighting" options.

Hi! Another thing to try is change your Selection Filter at the top. In assembly, the default is set to Component or Part. In order to select a workplane, the selection filter will need to be set to Select Features or Select Faces or Edges. Does it work now?

This is the one that worked for me thanks, for the last month I've been hovering over the plane in the browser then having to give the assembly a nudge to highlight the corresponding plane in the part.
