Will Microsoft Surface Laptop with Snapdragon X elite run autodesk Inventor

Hi everyone,

I'm a student pursuing an engineering degree and I'm considering purchasing a Surface Laptop with the Copilot+ PC package. I plan to use it primarily for running Autodesk Inventor. My main concern is whether this setup will handle Inventor effectively, given that it doesn't have an external GPU. Has anyone tried running Autodesk Inventor on a similar configuration? Do you think it will work smoothly without requiring any updates or additional hardware? Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi! Please make sure the laptop meets the following system requirements.

It will not be performant due to the limited hardware on a Surface laptop. But as along as it fits t he minimum requirements, Inventor should run.

Many thanks!

Thanks John,

So the Snapdragon X Elite ARM processors should be fine with Inventor Pro?

I was concerned that they might not support Open GL and struggle.

Hi Andrew,

I don't have a Microsoft Surface Pro (Snapdragon) laptop to test. However, I think as long as the machine is equipped with the supported Windows, it should just run. It may not run as performant or smoothly as in the CPU spec in the system requirements. But there is no official statement from Autodesk saying the Windows-based desktop products supports Snapdragon.

Many thanks!
