Why don't iProperties automatically fill out title block at start?

I haven't been working with Inventor really long, under two years, so I might be alittle slow at stuff but WHY doesn't the iproperties automatically fill out the title block when you start up a drawing? I did find out where to go to do  that under the document settings but after many years it's still a 1 shot deal. WHY?

You have to tell us more about these iProperties that you have in your titleblock.  Are they drawing iProperties or belong to the model.  Share a drawing template and we can go from there.  Also when posting its recommended that you always indicate the version of Inventor you're using.

I'm USING VERSION 2018. They will fill in when I go to tools, document settings, drawing click copy model iproperty settings. So I guess it's model iproperty information. I just don't understand why it won't keep this setting I LOVE IT!

We set up our drawing templates to pull the model iprops, not the drawing iprops.

It's been several years, but I think this is the workflow:

  1. Edit your drawing templates
  2. Place a ipt/iam in the drawing
  3. Edit all the text fields in the drawing to use the model iprops
  4. Delete the ipt/iam
  5. Save the template

New drawings will pull the iprops from the first model view on sheet 1 of a drawing.

Once this is done, you don't have to copy iprops from the ipt/iam to the idw.

Note: The revision table updates the drawing Rev Number iprop, not the model Rev Number.  You will have to pay attention as you revise drawings/models over time.

Pay attention that properties you want to be displayed are properties filled up: for example model properties not displayed (and not copied) in drawing properties (of the same assembly).

If you choose drawing property "general" "title" - only title of THAT drawing and not any else
