Why Browsers Why?

So a problem has developed recently with my browsers and I don't know why?

Each time I shut down my computer for the work day and I get back on the next morning my browsers are shrunk up and out of place.

They end up looking like this:

Then I have to stretch and move them to get them back to where I want them like this:

Fixed Browsers.PNG

I've been having to do this every day now and it's getting quite annoying. I've gone into all my templates and made sure they are in place and saved those files and it still keeps happening.

I've looked on the help pages and gone through every option setting I can find and nothing about how to get these to quit wandering and stay in place.

Does anybody have any idea how to fix this?

Hi @drileyPJ9YZ

Which Inventor release are you on?

Just want to narrow down the problem as I didn't see it on my local machine - if you dock the browsers Left-to-Right SxS (not Up-to-Down SxS), or if you dock either the Model browser or the iLogic browser to the right border, would the layout persist after you re-start Inventor?

Thanks,

Yuming

Hi, could it be that you have more than one display, like a laptop and external monitor, or two external monitors and they are both running a different resolution?
Maybe the order in which you turn off the monitors matter? I'm just guessing here, but if I use Inventor in 4K and then switch back to 1080p all my windows are the wrong size. However I think this only happens if I adjust them so I don't know why it would affect you.

Thanks for responding.

So, I open the idw I was working on last night before end of work day. Same drawing. Saved and closed with the browsers fixed as above and this is what I get this morning.

No Model Browser! Only the iLogic Browser and it's fully extended. I have no explanation. It's never done ths before until I installed 2025.

While replying through e-mail my capture did not go through. So here it is. No Model Browser:

I did as you suggested Yuming and will see what happens.

So it came back up with no problems. It seems to only happen overnight however.

I did see that there is an update to 2025 so I'm going to install that as well and we will see what happens tomorrow morning.

Thanks

Start IV.  Start new part.

Setup browser panels.

Close part.  Close IV.

If you open multiple IV, don't adjust browser panels until only one IV is running.

Hi @drileyPJ9YZ,

That looks like the problem happens only when iLogic and Model browsers are docked with Up-Down SxS. Is that what you saw?

Yes, please give it a try for the update.

I never run multiples. It's enough for me just to have one version running.

I already had that update installed. No worries, I did as suggested by dragging the browsers out and then reattaching to the side and this morning when I started up the problem was gone. I've shut down and restarted twice now and no problems with the browsers.

"docked with Up-Down SxS"     I like my up-down SxS  🙂   Gives me a bigger screen so I can see more of my drawing and model. I'm old, my eyes don't work as good as they used to.

Thanks again for your help Yuming.
