Where to find information about a INVGEN issue

The release notes doesn't give any details on the issues resolved. Is there any way to see what the related INVGEN issue contains? Or any way to see what user reported issues it's supposed to have resolved?

Example: 2023.2 Update

Most of the time the already-solved INVGEN issues only have a one-liner description, and the data about root cause, workarounds, and solution is not available on the AKN article pages. Those codes are mostly for internal tracking, if we start a ticket and Autodesk provides us a pipeline for resolution, eventually. You can see, however, some of those in article pages if you look for the "INVGEN XXXX" in some cases.

Hi Tina,

Indeed, we don't publish the detail information of any internal defect tickets. It is because there could be proprietary customer data and processes involved. We cannot share such information.

If you need to know more about a specific ticket item, please let me know. I am more than happy to take a look and share the appropriate information with you.

Many thanks!

Thank you Johnson for answering my question and your offer to help!

I don't need information about any specific issue at this time. It's just that sometimes I see something in the release notes that peek my interest and I want to know more. Curiosity is the best learning tool one can have 😊

Hi Johnson,

you know what is funny, there is a support page https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-look-up-the... which tells "How to look up the current status for an Autodesk Incident ID" but what the page says does not work. It should be on address https://knowledge.autodesk.com/ but that does not work and is redirected to https://www.autodesk.com/support

I found this when I wanted to check a status of INVGEN-81742 which I got from a support guy, when I reported Inventor crash.

Best regards

Pavel

Hi Pavel,

I am not aware of a way to access our internal defect database outside of our domain. I just checked the latest status of INVGEN-81742. It is a confirmed defect on 2025.2. It has been fixed on our internal builds targeting 2025.3 update. There is also a note saying a fix is being integrated to the coming 2025.2.1 update.

In the meantime, if the defect blocks your workflow, please uninstall 2025.2 update for now.

Many thanks!

Good find Pav3L!
I went to the article you linked and used the Feedback form to flag that the information is obsolete. If enough people do that it might get noticed. At best the page will be updated with correct information. But at the very least the page should be removed if it is no longer possible to access the information.

Just to add to what Johnson has said. We post the INVGEN number on here so that:

1) if someone else comes along, they don't log it twice in our backlog

2) it makes it easier for us to look up the status later if you ask us about it.
