Where is the file that stores text presets? - Inventor 2026

Hi Everyone,

Helping set up a new guy at work, and I've got a pile of preset text for some of our common assemblies that we work on so we can select them and have the same note populate through our drawings.

I found a way to copy the common presets to a common folder on the drive and then changed the application options folders to point towards a common preset folder. I had looked at the help section (https://help.autodesk.com/view/INVNTOR/2026/ENU/?guid=GUID-0FDF0162-5374-4FC8-B6E3-59FDBC9AAA40) for working with presets and it got me close but not quite where I wanted to be.

When I navigate to the appdata/roaming/autodesk/inventor 2026/presets folder I have 5 files. CoilCmd, DrawingWeldSymbolCmd, EndFillCommand, HoleCmd, ThreadCmd. Those are all the files in the folder.

These make sense based on the files where I have presets that are used within inventor, however I can't seem to track down where the text presets are. After I've set up my local copy of inventor to point to the common folder that we are planning to use, I had lost my list of text presets.

Long story shorter, what file does this save into and how can I find it? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi! I could be wrong but I don't think Text Editor supports presets. It is not yet implemented.

Many thanks!

I hope I'm using the right name, but within the Format Text dialog box there's a drop down where you can save presets for text. I had been poking around and hadn't been able to find where that was saved. We typically use this for a lot of assembly specific notes that are the same all the time so I was just hoping there was a way to share this with another user.
