Hello, for years I worked with Inventor designing mechanical parts in steel. But now I have to do the 3d of this mold and I'm not sure which tools inventor has to perform the design, since in general what I design is with many flat faces, and this mold has many surfaces that I would not know how to start.
Any suggestions?
Form (freeform) tools.
What version of Inventor do you have?
I don't recall if Inventor 2014 had Form (freeform) tools.
In any case they were almost certainly not well developed back then (not all that much advancement since).
Fusion 360 might be a better choice for this design.
You have written "mold" several times, but I assume you mean "model".
If you are going to create a plastic injection mold - you will need to consider draft and release from the mold.
In that case - I would do the model in Fusion 360 and the mold in Inventor. (If you had Inventor 2017, I might initially attempt the model in Inventor rather than Fusion.
Any way you tackle this design - you are going to face some real challenges.
@JDMather Just to confirm.. Freeforming and direct edit was added in Inventor 2015..

You can do it with Fusion360.
