What is causing this coil to turn to soild surface?

Working with a student to make this simple coil we ran into an issue where the coil is turning out as a surface Body or something.   The design/modeling  process is straight forward but when this students sketch is being converted, it is  different.     why is this happening?

Hi!

There's no problem, you just selected to create the feature as surface.
After creating, you can't go back to solid, so delete it (maintain the sketch), and select the output as solid... check the video.

Thanks you sharing this - I also did not know how to delete the feature to start back over from the sketch
