What does this symbol mean?

I'm am trying to recreate a  3D hull and using pre existing inventor file all the sketches (transom views , side view and top view) have this symbol, what does it mean?  also can you please point me a tutorial where hull in created using the dimensions from the three views?

That is the constraint glyph for a piece of Projected Geometry.

That is the symbol for projected geometry.  When you hover over it it should highlight something on the sketch.  Whatever is highlighted has been projected from another sketch or geometry or work feature.

The Project Geometry symbol shows up when sketch elements are being referenced from other features.

 

From the picture it looks like the Origin Point geometry is being projected into the current sketch.

 

It is a good idea to Constrain your sketch elements to a stationary origin or projected geometry point so it is Fully Constrained. Otherwise it can move around.

 

Can you share the files to get a better understanding of what you are trying to do? There are many good tutorials that might get you pointed in the right direction.
