In the old version I see more threads, I have a better idea of the order of threads. I also think that the old version is more readable.

I don't like having the "Trending" posts tab active by default.  I have to always click it to "ALL".

I also think there is too much white space as compared to the older version.  This one has everything spread out too much.

Look at the number of threads you can see here in the same space.

I think the upvote thing makes the forum feel less like a "help center" and more like a regular forum, which is a good thing since it means there’s room for more casual/general posts. The downside, as some people have mentioned, is that there’s a lot of white space now, so fewer threads show up in the same area. I like the new design overall, but modifications needs to be made.

Here is a conversation about the new format.  https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/community-announcements/we-re-testing-a-new-forums-experience-feedbac...

It seems that only some people are seeing the new format as they test it out and work out the bugs.

I see, that explains it. I'm obviously not Group A material.

What browser are you using?  I noticed that when I use Google Chrome, I can see the "new" format.  When using "MS Edge" the old format is shown.

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to connect here and confirm that we have recently launched an A/B test to modernise some of the UX on the forums and make things you might be interested in easier to find. This will mean that 50% of users will see the new design, and 50% will continue to see the old design.

The direct link to the announcement and official user feedback is located here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/community-announcements/we-re-testing-a-new-forums-experience-feedbac...

That being said, I have subscribed to this thread, so any feedback posted here will also be logged for our development team to look into further. If you spot any other posts on community that we haven't responded to, I would appreciate you sharing them with us! Alternatively, feel free to DM me directly if you would prefer.

We understand it's a big change and we have already had lots of excellent feedback that we can use to improve on the design and make it a experience for community, and that's the goal of A/B tests, right?

We appreciate all constructive feedback! We are looking at every comment sent!

Is someone getting paid according to the ratio of wasted white space? This looks like my parents phone settings.

I'm not looking forward to having to update my CSS style edits to remove white space, change sizes of various things, and color code read, unread, solved posts.

I don't know if it's part of these changes but now when I'm typing and I get to the bottom of the reply text box it seems to want to scroll up so that I can't see what I'm typing. I can drag the slider down to see but then as soon as I start to type it will scroll back up.

A few comments

1. Too much white space
2. Starts on the trending tab
3. Option for dark mode?

Refreshing the page puts you back on trending. That's awful!

As others have said, there's so much white space, being able to quickly scan through posts is more difficult.

Also, the trending tab being the default is a bad move. In the Inventor forum the top trending post hasn't been posted in for over a week.

Regarding posting, the default reply box size is 3 and a bit lines of text (using Chrome on Windows). Yes, I know it can be resized but it should be bigger as standard.

Before I resized it I had the same issue that @dan_inv09 mentioned above where I couldn't see what I was typing.

Oh boy...if I have it set to view "All" threads (instead of the "Trending" ones it defaults to), it always returns to "Trending" when I return to the previous page, so I have to once again click on "All" to see all posts. I hope this will change...I think seeing All threads should take precedence over seeing only the Trending ones (where all the other ones are hidden).

(edit: I work in the Department of Redundancy Department).
