Hi,
In a top level assembly that contains a subassembly, which is a weldment. I highlight the weldment and select the 'Save and Replace Component' button from the productivity menu. It brings up the dialogue box to browse to a location and type in a name, but when I hit save, I get an error message 'Unable to save and replace component'.
I did a bit of playing around to figure out why. Strangely, in the dialogue box for saving, the 'Save as type' can only be set to 'All files'. I checked against another sub-assembly that is not a weldment and the save as type automatically populates with .iam. Similarly save and replace parts populates with .ipt. If I type .iam on the end of my new name for the weldment copy it works fine. It seems that Inventor is confused about what file type a weldment is.
Anyone else have / seen this problem?
Running Inventor Pro 2018
Many thanks
Steve
