Weldment Issue - Add Weld Then Machine

I've got a part where there is a thru hole. In that hole I need to show a ring of weld that will go around the inside to a certain depth and then be machined to size. The only way I'm getting around it now is doing an assembly with the main part then a dummy part that represents the weld. Is there a way to accomplish this in just one weldment assembly doing away with the dummy part?

I've attached a picture of what I'm trying to accomplish. The bronze colored ring is essentially the "added" welding that then is machined.

Hi @Rethceif-Nick

I just came across your post in the unanswered section. Firstly our apologies for not getting any feedback. You probably know that welds need atleast two input faces. In this case, its an interesting problem since you only have the one inner face and want to fill it with some thickness. While we dont have a valid way to create a weld with just one input face, we can probably try a workaround.

1. In the part, Split the cylinderical part vertically so that you have 2 semi-circular cylindrical faces

2. Create a groove weld between the two split cylindrical faces with the Radial Fill

3. This will create a full cylindrical weld.

4. Then cut through the weld in the machining feature using a circlular sketch + extrude

That should produce the same result as what you have shown on the images.

Hope that helps (even if its a little too late).

Thanks
