Weld material density issue (Inventor 2023.2 build 271)

When creating a welded assembly, the default weld material is welded aluminium 6061 with 2700 kg/m³ density.

When I change it to a different one, the density is nil. When I configure the aluminium back, the density is 2700 again.

The same happens with other materials.

No weight for welds...

Jacek

I have just looked, and if I understand you correctly, mine appears to be working:

Thank you blandb.

Please see attached images with zero density shown for steel in the second one.

Additionally, in the third one there are two types of welded aluminium (???, different word order). The first one (highlighted, default material) gives 2700 density, the other nil. The rest gives nil (did not check all of them).

Curious, are you using the default installed material libraries, or are you using a custom material library? Did you or someone happen to add new materials and maybe zeroed out the density upon creation?

Hi! If possible, please share the files here (just the weldment iam file should be enough). I would like to understand the behavior better.

Many thanks!

Hi all,

There should be an issue with my Inventor configuration as my colleagues do not have this problem.

I think it is pointless to share files...

Still looking for solution :-(.

Hi! Please share the files in zip with me directly johnson.shiue@autodesk.com. I would like to understand this density behavior better.

Many thanks!
