Weld bead causes constraint failure

Why would new weld beads added to a weldment part cause all of the weldment's associated constraints in the main assembly to "crash"? I say new weld beads because I had 3 in there before with no problem, and I added 4 more and then problem showed up. I tried suppressing the new beads and then deleting the new ones altogether to no avail. In the recovery dialogue it says that it's because of "undefined geometry".

I've been pulling my hair out ever since we got INV 11 and I'm running out of patience......
