Way to automatically constrain multiple points in-line?

I worked in Inventor a few years ago and have been in Solid Edge for the past 2-3 years, now getting back into Inventor 2020 and it's driving me crazy that I can't either...

A. Auto-constrain points in a line (horizontal or vertical) as I land them like Edge does. It shows a projection line when you hover, showing you that you're in-line, but it doesn't actually assign a horiz or vert constraint

OR

B. Be able to click/drag over multiple points to constrain them ALL in a line quickly.

Am I missing something or is the only way to click each point and constraint one to the next in a chain?

Why not use Construction line?

Why not use Pattern?

Attach your *.ipt file that you used your hard way and someone will demonstrate easy way.

I supposed construction lines would work. I typically try to stay away from patterns if I can.

They just have given me problems holding together in the past once I get into really large assemblies (which is often).

So it sounds like the answer to my question though is that no, neither of those options I listed is possible.

@Anonymous  Place all your points.. Window select all of the points.. THEN select the horizontal or vertical constraint button..

Show some love by voting for this idea to implement the ability for that window selection to always be available so you don't have to exit out of horizontal or vert constraint mode to allow window selection..

YES!

This is exactly what I wanted. Thank you. Hadn't thought to select them first. I kept choosing the constraint first.
