Want (need, really) to learn about pattern features and parts along a (3D) path

Hello

I'm hoping that someone can provide a link to where I can learn this. I've tried an old link from JD, a PDF file, but it seems that it's no longer live. I've also tried the Wiki Help, but what it says there just doesn't work. I mean, I'm following all the steps, and yet the hole I want to pattern doesn't follow the path I want. I also looked at the help files, and went through three pages of Youtube video results from searching "Autodesk Inventor Pattern a Part"
