Variable pitch Helical curve flat pattern

Hi

I have made a spiral with a variable helical curve and I would like to flattern.

If I do it with a constant helical curve is not a  problem but if the pitch is variable then it doesnt work.

Could somebody help me with that.

Hi! Sheet Metal Unfolder does not work with general spline face. It only works with some spline faces (developable faces). To flatten the face, you need Inventor 2020 Unwrap command.

Many thanks!

Hi Ismael;

Instead of using Loft - use Sweep. Than you will get the flat pattern to work. Why the Loft doesn't work - it is a mystery for me buried deep in Inventor. The attached file is in IV2020 format. But the the screen shot should give you an idea.

Cheers,

Igor.

Thanks Igor

I have Inv2019, I will try to dowload the version 2020 because I think with the 2019 is not posible to flattern a sweep.

It worked for me in IV2018. Give it a try.

Cheers,

Igor.
