We are running 2012 Inventor and I'm looking for a reason to upgrade to 2016. Can anyone tell me some of the major improvements over the years? I'm specifically wondering about fillet features.

Do you have 2016?

That is an old release.

I recommend you talk to your VAR.

Not yet. We have been offered to buy it from our rep. I was told there is a purchase deadline before the subscription license starts.

Who is the "rep"?

Something sounds really fishy here.

I would proceed with extreme caution.

They are an Autodesk Platinum Partner. I'm pretty sure our company bought from them in 2012.

Why the secrecy?

I would be concerned.

I design a lot of castings with crazy lofts, draft angles, and fillets. Just wondering if Autodesk has made some improvements to those areas in the software. That seems to be our only run in.

Also how was the file transition for you?

Form tools are now in Inventor.

But the learning curve is steep.

These are the new suites going forward on Aug 1st.  One for manufacturing,  another for the AEC world, and the final one for entertainment.   So basically you only have a few days left to purchase the suites that are currently being offered.   But if you have a suite and you are on active subscription you can continue to use them now and in the future (as long as you state active).   If you need to purchase after Aug 1st, then you buy one or more of the collections or purchase each individual product.
