UNIT OF EACH IN CONTENT CENTER

I want to have my unit of measure in content center for raw material usage be "EACH", but it is not a selectable option, and if I use any other unit of measure, it says I have invalid empty cells even though nothing is wrong with the column. How can I fix these issues?

You will have to replace the template that the family is using if you want different BOM settings.  Generate a custom item from the family, go into the document settings of that custom item and set the Base Quantity to Each instead of the length parameter.  Save the file then go into the content center editor and right click on the family and select replace family template and browse to the custom item you just modified.  Now the default Qty will be set to each on any standard and new custom parts you generate.

My apologies I should have described my situation better. I have some properties already set up to give me the raw material usage based off of the bought in length of wood pieces (3/4 x 3/4, 1 x 2, etc.) by taking the length of a piece of wood and dividing it by the raw material length. My goal is to be able to take all pieces of the same length and figure out how many full length pieces I need to get my necessary amount. Like for example, how many 1 x 2 x 96" pieces will I need for 15 1 x 2 x 15" pieces. In order to do that, I need to be able to divide the "raw mat qty (each)" by the "length" and get an "eaches" quantity not a length.

My apologies for any confusion.

If you change your RAW MAT LENGTH to have inches for a unit and delete the units for you RAW MAT QTY (EACH) column, that should give you what you want.  I'm assuming that your expression for the each column looks like {LENGTH}/{RAW MAT LENGTH}.  So if you divide inches by inches it will give you a unitless value.
